"The Spirit of Collaboration"

“People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it. And what you do simply proves what you believe.”

                                                                                                                – Simon Sinek, author and motivational speaker

At STEDY, we see each day as an opportunity to create economic prosperity. We help drive this philosophy by providing opportunities for students to acquire skills and earn industry certification.

As an organization founded on collaboration, we measure success by the extent to which we are able to create mutual benefit for our students and community members.

This spirit of collaboration is the foundation of the programs we offer. By identifying industry needs for skilled and qualified employees and the interest of students, we are positioned to enable economic success and individual prosperity. An example of this is our new computer coding program. Industry has identified the need for a well-qualified workforce to implement and support technology. Students too have identified an interest in learning and acquiring these skills. Together, the need for industry and student interest enable us to develop robust programs that meets the needs of all.

We recognize the success of a program does not simply come from industry need, but also from offering a positive student experience. A few ways that we plan to enhance a positive student experience include allowing students to apply for a STEDY program online. Our website, https://www.stedycte.org, includes an easy way for students to begin the enrollment process. Simply look for and click the “Enroll Today” logo on our front page.

Because we thrive when our community and students thrive, we support numerous projects and causes that align with our mission. Last December, we supported the Education Professions program, and students involved in Educator’s Rising promoting early childhood literacy, by acquiring and donating over 400 children’s books. In addition, we support student participation in career and technical student organizations, such as Skills USA by chairing local competitions. Both these efforts demonstrate our commitment to programs and efforts that benefit our students and community.

As we start a new year, STEDY will continue to work hard to promote economic development and skill attainment for students, so we can thrive together. On behalf of the entire STEDY team, I wish you a prosperous and happy new year.
