STEDY update on COVID-19 03/18/20

March 18, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is our intent to provide you with as much information regarding the operation of the Southwest Technical Education District of Yuma (STEDY) as we monitor and adjust to the latest COVID -19 challenges.

As you know, one of STEDY’s primary goals is to support students in learning to acquire new skills to earn an industry certification. We are NOT WAVERING from this objective. The staff at STEDY have been developing an instructional model that will enable your child to continue with their course of study for the duration of the school closure and beyond to the normal school end date if the situation warrants such a measure.

We are working on developing virtual labs and other hands-on simulations. These experiences will be monitored and assessed for competency, just as if your student were actually attending STEDY each day. We feel the new instructional delivery will serve in the student’s best interest whether they are in their first year of the program or in their second year and ready to take the industry skills assessment to become certified in their program area.

We will let you know next week on our progress in developing the instruction. However, please expect your child to continue to receive a quality educational experience that will prepare and enable their success.

Please continue to visit our website (www.STEDYcte.org) or social media sites (@STEDYaz) for the latest information. Or please do not hesitate to call us at (928) 366-5884 if you need additional information or have any questions.

Sincerely,

 Kevin Imes

Superintendent

Southwest Technical Education District of Yuma
