Student Application and Pre-Enrollment Process
Students log on to www.stedycte.org click on “New Student or Enroll Today” and enter their personal information to indicate interest in a program. Please choose 1 primary program and up to two alternate programs.
High School Counselors meet with eligible students at home school sites to provide program details, pre-requisites, and necessary paperwork.
STEDY staff review applicants for appropriate placement and eligibility.
Pre-requisite Accuplacer Test Scores: Testing may be scheduled at the STEDY Office (928-373-1182)7:30-4, M-F. OR, the student may call Arizona Western College (928-317-6000) and schedule to test. If the student does not test at CTED, he/she is responsible to provide STEDY with a copy of their official test results. If student does not achieve a qualifying score on the first attempt, he/she has one additional opportunity to retake the Accuplacer Test. If student tests one time, does not pass, and intends to retest, the student must notify their high school counselor of their intentions and present scores from the first Accuplacer Test. However, all testing must be complete and STEDY must receive the scores.
- Timeliness is imperative since seats are limited in some programs and will be available on a "first come" basis.
- Students who do not meet criteria for their first choice of program may be placed in one of their alternate program choices, based on enrollment availability. If no alternate choice is made and student does not meet enrollment criteria, student will receive a letter confirming their non-eligibility for the program.
- Final review of applicant list by STEDY and high school counselors and other home school applicable CTED staff.
- Program Director/Superintendent sends Program Acceptance letter to student. This letter includes an invitation to eligible students and parent/s to attend a MANDATORY, Program-specific Registration event (Watch www.stedycte.org for specific locations and dates). Locations and dates vary according to program. At this event, students complete their on-line Arizona Western College class registration, register a uniform size, and meet their AWC instructors and CTED Staff.
- First day of classes.
