District Information
What is S.T.E.D.Y.?
S.T.E.D.Y. stands for the Southwest Technical Education District of Yuma — a public high school district committed to providing students in Yuma County with tuition-free career and technical education (CTE) opportunities. Eligible students must be currently enrolled in high school, under the age of 22, and have not yet earned a high school diploma or GED.
Through our Central and Satellite programs, we offer hands-on, career-focused learning for sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in fields such as agriculture, Cosmetology, Digital Animation, culinary arts, cyber-criminology, HVAC, drafting, film and TV production, Medical Assisting, sports medicine, and more.
Students who enroll in STEDY programs can earn high school credit through their home campus and may also have the opportunity to earn college credit, industry-recognized certifications, and in some cases, a state license through partnerships with institutions like Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University. These credentials give students a competitive edge and a head start toward their career goals.
As an official career and technical education school district (CTED), STEDY works in partnership with the Arizona Department of Education, and all our programs are approved through its CTE division. We welcome students from public, charter, private, and homeschool backgrounds across Yuma County to dual enroll in our programs.
We believe that a skilled workforce is vital to Yuma’s economic future, and we proudly collaborate with local employers, community partners, and industry leaders to connect students with real-world experiences such as internships, job shadowing, and work-based learning opportunities. Business and industry professionals serve as key contributors in guiding our curriculum and helping ensure students are prepared for in-demand careers.
At STEDY, we’re committed to helping students meet their academic goals and career aspirations—and to providing a faster, more focused path toward a successful future.
